What a safe place to be!

This lovely hen is keeping her chicks safe under her wings.

UNDER HIS WINGS

by William Orcutt Cushing

1)  Under His wings I am safely abiding;
Though the night deepens and tempests are wild,
Still I can trust Him, I know He will keep me;
He has redeemed me, and I am His child.

Refrain
Under His wings, under His wings,

Who from His love can sever?
Under His wings my soul shall abide,
Safely abide forever.

2)  Under His wings—what a refuge in sorrow!
How the heart yearningly turns to His rest!
Often when earth has no balm for my healing,
There I find comfort, and there I am blest.

Refrain

3)  Under His wings—oh, what precious enjoyment!
There will I hide till life’s trials are o’er;
Sheltered, protected, no evil can harm me;
Resting in Jesus I’m safe evermore.

Refrain

  1. Thank you for reminding us of that beautiful song. You continue to be an encouragement to us all. Praying for God’s presence with His abundant grace and mercy for each of you every minute of the day.

    Blessings,

    1. Thank you, Bonnie. In the last book of the Old Testament, Malachi 4:1-2 –

      “Watch now,” the Lord Almighty declares, “the day of judgment is coming, burning like a furnace. The proud and wicked will be burned up like straw; like a tree, they will be consumed—roots and all. But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in His wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.”
